How do I manage external notification emails?

Notification emails can be sent to people who are not users and the email addresses used are referred to as external email addresses. For external email addresses, it is possible for Admin users to enable SIM Alerts for all SIMs that have Cap or Alert thresholds set.

For direct customers, it is also possible to enable SIM Alerts for all Tariff Groups that have Alert thresholds set.

This is available in the Notifications tab under the Managed Accounts page.

Adding an external email

To add an external email:

  • Click 'Add External Email'.

  • If the email address isn't easy to understand you can enter an easy-to-understand name for the external email in the Name field.
  • Enter the external email.  If you enter the email address of an existing user a message is displayed indicating that the email already exists.
  • Click Apply.
  • A verification email is sent to the email address. The external email is now listed and shown as 'Verification pending'.

  • When the email address is received, click on the verification link it contains. This will verify the email and the email address will now be usable.

Editing external email default notification settings

You can choose to send all individual SIM Alerts to the external email address.  Direct customers can also choose to send all Tariff Group Alerts to the external email.  

  • Click 'View' next to the external email you wish to delete. The following is displayed.

  • Tick the SIM Alerts box to send all individual SIM Alerts to the external email.  Direct customers can tick the Tariff Group Alerts box to send all Tariff Group Alerts to the external email.  

Note that users can choose to receive the same alerts in their My Profile page. Notification email addresses can also be set for individual SIMs in the SIM’s Details page.

Deleting an external email

  • Click 'View' next to the external email you wish to delete. The following is displayed.

  • Click 'Delete'. The following confirmation is displayed.

  • Click 'Delete' to confirm the deletion.

Note

  • Deleting an external email address also removes it from all SIMs.
