A virtual private network (VPN) extends a private network across a public network, and enables users to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if their computing devices were directly connected to the private network while optionally providing enhanced security by encrypting traffic. The VPN options provided by Arkessa generally do support this enhanced security.

As SIMs provided by Arkessa are assigned a static private IP address, an access method is required to establish an inbound connection to the SIM device. If the connection is outbound from the SIM device then an access method is not required. 

Arkessa provide several access methods including public IP NAT, physical link between the customer and Arkessa network (network to network interface or NNI) and VPNs. To understand more about the different types of VPN, see our article here.
